- ➤ A part of the Mayo complex called the Professional Arts Building — formerly St. Francis School of Nursing built in 1942 — may be declared a historic landmark. The Heritage Preservation Commission will review the request in February after the cold weather canceled Thursday’s meeting. WIZM

- ➤ Cold winter months and short days can worsen depression, anxiety + grief. On Friday, La Crosse Talk host Sean Dwyer interviewed mental health therapist Ashlee Vlasak from Peace of Mind Counseling about coping with winter blues. WIZM
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Over 600 athletes from near and far competed in three alpine events at the 20th Annual Dan Nagy Memorial Race held at Mt. La Crosse on Jan. 24 and 25. The event boosted local hotels & restaurants with an estimated economic impact of $1 million. News8000
