  • An 88-year-old woman took her first flight over the weekend from La Crosse Regional Airport to Chicago on flight 4057 piloted by her grandson for Envoy Air (a regional carrier for American Airlines) with her family onboard.  WEAU
  • The Tomah Health Community Foundation donated $3,000 to Parenting Place to support weekly play groups for local families with young children, with the funding aiding program access in Tomah (and nearby communities) as announced this morning.  News8000
  • After community members rallied on social media, the Holmen American Legion reversed its cancellation decision for Kornfest 2026 and will bring back the 60-year-old event with food, live music, and carnival fun the third weekend in August.   • Amy Dummer, a Holmen native, will take over Kroner's Hardware, one of La Crosse's longest-running family businesses. The historic store, which has served locals since 1868, is set to reopen with updates in April.  News8000

  • La Crosse Public Library archives document local Black figures including George Edwin Taylor, the first Black presidential candidate, and George Coleman Poage, the first Black Olympic medalist, and show how pioneers like Nathan Smith raised orphans in the late 1800s.  WEAU
