- ➤ Shawna Nelson, a western Wisconsin native who started as an intern at Organic Valley in 2005 (her first step with the co-op), will become the cooperative’s fourth CEO and first woman leader on March 28th; she said she will keep the co-op strong and help family farms (her way to offer stable support). - ➤ Starting April 4th, Envoy Air will replace Air Wisconsin’s service for American Airlines at the La Crosse Regional Airport by using larger planes—adding between 25 and 50 extra seats and dual class cabins on three daily routes to Chicago. WEAU

- ➤ La Crosse police said a shooting incident on March 9 at 1215 Logan Street left one person with a non life-threatening injury during a friendly fight that began without weapons but turned violent when guns were used, and they arrested 19-year-old Jaysen Moran at 11:49 a.m. for party to a crime to attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide as a 16-year-old was taken into custody on March 12 and a 13-year-old on March 13, with a preliminary hearing set to take place on March 28 at 11 a.m. WEAU

- ➤ La Crosse Education Association co-president Jesse Martinez, a Logan Middle School teacher, discussed the union’s endorsement process for school board candidates—only four of seven answered the questionnaire—for Merideth Garcia, Jeff Jackson, and Molly Fuchs. - ➤ Wisconsin’s private colleges face financial challenges as enrollments decline and many are cutting staff and programs to focus on career skills—Viterbo University in La Crosse will cut 13 jobs at the end of the school year while other schools add programs in computer science and health care.
