  • The La Crosse County Historical Society is seeking volunteers this summer to serve as tour guides at Hixon House and on cruise boat hop-on-hop-off tours—volunteers will set their own schedules while sharing local history with visitors.  News8000
  • La Crosse County’s Family Keys program helped Steven and Annabell, who once lived without stable housing and struggled with addiction, get help by guiding them through job support and therapy while paying six months’ rent so they could keep their children. They secured a steady job and took over their lease and are now on the path to owning a home.  News8000

  • On March 9, La Crosse prosecutors said an organized group fight arranged via Snapchat turned violent when a shooting led to multiple arrests on the North Side.  La Crosse Tribune

  • Tomah filmmaker Nathan Deming is making 12 films in Wisconsin, having finished his January and February films and planning to shoot 10 more — a project that depends on new tax breaks and the creation of a Film Office. Governor Evers’s budget proposal may add those incentives — which local groups say could bring jobs and keep creative talent here.  WIProud

  • La Crosse postal workers rallied against federal plans to privatize the USPS and stressed their service is more than just delivering mail (highlighting its broader role in the community).  La Crosse Tribune
  • La Crosse mayoral candidates Chris Kahlow and Shaundel Washington-Spivey are wrapping up their campaigns ahead of the April 1 election. Kahlow, a city council president and business owner, and Washington-Spivey, a former school board member and nonprofit leader, outlined plans to tackle homelessness, support local businesses, and improve affordable housing — promising historic firsts if elected.  WEAU
  • The Isle La Plume Brush and Yard Waste site opened Monday morning and now requires La Crosse residents to purchase a seasonal permit sticker—$25 per vehicle and $1,500 for up to five vehicles for contractors. It operates on Mondays and Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  News8000
