  • A study found Lake Altoona generates $5.5M yearly but could add over $1M if algae blooms and sedimentation are tackled. Michele Skinner, chair of the rehabilitation district, said work continues with dredging + upstream runoff controls to improve water quality before summer.  WEAU

  • The school district addressed concerns after a Facebook post on Wednesday said Logan High School ran out of milk because of a late supplier delivery. Superintendent Aaron Engel said they are setting up backup inventory and stricter protocols to prevent future shortages.  News8000

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The city council voted down a proposal to use $90,000 in ARPA funds to reopen the northside pool near Logan Middle School by an 8-5 vote Thursday night. Officials said the pool remains closed because it needs $900,000 in repairs while other outdoor pools will operate from June through August.  WIZM
