- ➤ La Crosse County celebrates National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week by recognizing 911 dispatchers who handle an average of 100 urgent calls daily. - ➤ Severe storms over the past few days caused damage from the Plains to the Midwest. A tornado touched down near Gilman with minor damage, and the National Weather Service in La Crosse is still assessing impacts as forecasters warned of additional storms with giant hail and strong wind gusts.
