- ➤ Coulee Region businesses hosted a superhero-themed memorial ride on Saturday to honor 6-year-old King Hull from Sparta who passed away on April 11 after battling cancer. Local bars including The Vault — where staff wore King’s custom shirts — are in a cash war until Sunday, April 27 to raise money for his family’s medical bills and funeral costs. News8000
- ➤ On Saturday, demonstrators in La Crosse rallied against federal budget cuts that they said could reduce health care and food programs for vulnerable residents — they gathered at the intersection of State Road and Losey Boulevard and held a food drive for the WAFER Food Pantry. News8000

- ➤ A man was hit by a semi-truck on Saturday night while walking on the highway near Cashton and was airlifted to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse for very serious injuries—State Highway 27 was closed until midnight as investigators review dash camera footage. News8000
