  • The sheriff’s office recruited 20 to 30 volunteers at Shelby Fire Department last Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. to search for Stanley Howe, 45, whose vehicle was found at Paul E. Stry Nature Preserve — a recent photo shows him in the clothing he was last seen wearing.  WIZM

  • Onalaska High School student Aditi Muduganti earned a scholarship for creating Wisconsin’s first Miyawaki forest, turning an underused plot into a thriving ecosystem.  La Crosse Tribune

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Today, the City unveiled a $65 million upgrade to its wastewater plant that now converts waste into energy to power operations and cut costs. The new system produces methane (which fuels an on-site engine) to reduce reliance on external electricity.  News8000
