  • Area veterans from western Wisconsin + southeast Minnesota and northern Iowa traveled from La Crosse to Washington, D.C. Saturday as part of the 32nd annual Freedom Honor Flight, stopping at Arlington National Cemetery and visiting memorials for the Korean War, Vietnam, WWII and Lincoln + other historical sites.  News8000

  • Local artisans turned Fox Hollow Event Center into a shoppers' paradise last Saturday with over 60 vendors selling items that must be at least 95% handmade - from jewelry to artisanal foods - according to host Sabrea Kuderer.   • La Crosse County Public Safety Communications is launching an AI system Monday to handle non-emergency calls while allowing callers to request a live dispatcher if needed — the technology was trained for months and is expected to ease call volume without cutting jobs.  News8000

  • On Saturday, hundreds of runners raced in the Festival Foods La Crosse Marathon from Sparta to Riverside Park—options included a full race, a half race, and a 5k run/walk with Kyle Mau finishing the full race at 2:28:54 and Chris Pahnke winning the half race.  News8000
