- ➤ The annual Veterans' Freedom Honor Flight will honor local veterans with a commemorative flight and depart from the La Crosse airport soon. Officials say details on schedule and route (to be announced) will be released shortly to invite community members to witness the tribute. News8000
- ➤ Construction has begun on a new entry and parking area at the Community Trail Farm, where visitors can use the site from 5-10 p.m. until the project is complete — temporary access changes advise parking at Pammel Creek Park and caution against large machinery. WIZM
- ➤ Northern Hills Elementary (in Onalaska) hosted its 5th annual Color Hawk Walk on Saturday evening. Families enjoyed a DJ dance party, lawn games, a bubble machine, and a group color toss, while food trucks were on-site and proceeds will support the PTO. News8000

- ➤ A local grandmother, Alice Benson, and her granddaughters Genevieve and Greta published two books titled Trapped in a Tablet and Nana Was Bootlegger that celebrate family bonds. They will host a public reading and book launch at The Nature Place on May 22 at 6:30 p.m. News8000

- ➤ Local rideshare drivers report rising gas prices are pushing up fuel costs + reducing their earnings, which may force them to reduce the number of trips offered. News8000
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ West Salem’s Brudos and Aquinas’ Becker were named WIAA scholar athletes today after meeting high academic + athletic standards, as their schools recognized their efforts during an award announcement. They join a select group honored for balancing classroom success with sports. News8000

30th Annual La Crosse Area Mayoral Prayer Breakfast
7:29-8:45am – The Radisson Center – Tickets required, $20 – This event brings the community together for a meaningful morning of honoring and praying for our local leaders, along with breakfast and a keynote speaker. Tickets are available only through April 30.
