  • Veterans from the Coulee Region flew from La Crosse to Washington, D.C. on Saturday on the 32nd Freedom Honor Flight — 101 veterans and their guardians joined the send-off featuring music and a brief ceremony before boarding their flight.  WIZM

  • Local customers say that an appliance repair business in La Crosse overcharged for parts and failed to finish repairs—leaving many with broken appliances while its owner faces a bench warrant for alleged check fraud.  News8000

  • 6th Street in La Crosse closed for nearly four months starting Monday as state crews began a reconstruction that included utility work, new bike lanes, and extra lighting along the corridor between Cass Street and State Street, with work expected to finish on August 29.  News8000
  • Yesterday on La Crosse Talk, Rep. Tara Johnson recapped budget listening sessions, discussed money in politics, and said she will host monthly town halls in District 96 after the budget is finished. She also addressed the slow start of the legislative session while focusing on state efforts to tackle homelessness & improve representative diversity in the Assembly.  WIZM
  • The La Crosse School Board held a special meeting Monday night to elect a new president and swear in three new members after a storm postponed last week’s meeting—while the county board discussed its climate action plan and the future of county farmland after delaying a potential sale last month.  WIZM
  • Starting today, County Highway YY is closed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each weekday for culvert replacement along the road through Barre and Greenfield. The project will continue through May 13—weather permitting as work relies on completing power line upgrades.  WIProud
