  • Local letter carriers collected non-perishable food and hygiene items from mailboxes on Saturday for the Stamp Out Hunger drive to benefit food pantries amid rising summer needs. The effort, run in partnership with Great Rivers United Way+ and part of a national program with a 30-plus year history of collecting 1.9 billion pounds of food, aims to fight food insecurity in our community.  News8000
  • Hundreds of volunteers took part in the 32nd annual River Cleanup this weekend — workers cleared trash and debris from local waterways at sites like 7th Street Landing.   • Women with disabilities from across the Coulee Region shone at the annual Miss RemarkAble Pageant held at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse’s Student Union, where they attended workshops, interviews, and makeovers to build confidence and skills.
