- ➤ The La Crosse Area Family YMCA’s Community Youth Center will be closed for appointments through May for renovations (using Giving Day donations to replace upstairs flooring), with clothing donations still accepted and temporary pick-up programming on certain days; it will reopen in June. - ➤ OptumServe Health Services from La Crosse was awarded a federal health contract by the Defense Health Agency to provide care for military members without access to treatment facilities — a deal valued up to $1.6 billion over 10 years. La Crosse Tribune
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ UW-La Crosse will host its Reduce, Reuse, Reimagine program from May 12–15, where on-campus residents can drop off usable items at Reuter Hall and near Angell Hall (West Chiller Plant) between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. while everyone may browse available goods. WIZM
- ➤ University officials and community leaders broke ground at UWL for the second Prairie Springs science building (part of a $194 million project) on Friday; the facility will replace Cowley Science Hall and be ready for students in early 2029. WIZM
