- ➤ Residents and golf enthusiasts gathered on Friday at Forest Hills Golf Course to mark the opening of a new pavilion—the result of a community project that began in 2021. - ➤ On May 15, a fire destroyed the Tank Creek bridge on the Great River State Trail and Trempealeau business owners now worry that fewer cyclists will visit town. - ➤ The 94-year-old Mississippi River bridge between Lansing and Crawford County remains closed after sensors detected dangerous movement — engineers have inspected the structure, leaving drivers to use crossings in La Crosse or Prairie du Chien this Memorial Day weekend.
