- ➤ The Salvation Army of La Crosse County announced that starting June 3 it will replace monthly distributions with food assistance given twice weekly at its main office at 223 N. 8th Street — on Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. and Thursdays from 9 to 11 a.m. News8000
- ➤ Downtown Mainstreet hosts its first Sunday Market at Cameron Park on May 31 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., offering food vendors and free fitness classes (dance, yoga, Pilates) along with activities for kids, with the market running through Oct. 25. WIZM
- ➤ Al Louis is launching Al’s Musky Challenge fundraiser in a few weeks to support local groups such as Scouting America, The Parenting Place, Family and Children’s Center-Stepping Stones, and the Pump House — he will start fishing next week on Lake Vermillion in northern Minnesota with donations split between charities and a future endowment.
