- ➤ Lewis Kuhlman, La Crosse’s environmental planner, said the Solar Power Hour is happening today from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the People’s Food Coop—where residents learn how to lower costs on solar installations and get help with energy upgrades through the home energy audit program for low-income households. - ➤ City committees in La Crosse are voting this month on the Haven on Main housing project planned where the Pink Palace apartments once stood. The plan offers 70 units and 94 bedrooms for income-challenged families and people with disabilities and was backed by the plan commission — it will be reviewed by other city panels in June. WIZM
- ➤ On June 2 the La Crosse Board of Public Works voted to raise storm water utility bills by 120% from $53 to $118 per household starting July 1 to rebuild reserves—Public meetings to review the proposal are set for June 5 and June 12 while one board member raised concerns about the steep jump.
