On Monday, the La Crosse Area YMCA launched its free summer lunch program at 24 locations in the county, providing meals with fresh produce, milk, and a protein source for children 18 and under.

Volunteers serve meals — the program aims to deliver 400,000 lunches over the summer to help ease food insecurity.

Emplify Health by Gundersen has launched its free summer meal program to serve breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. and lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to kids 18 and under at the Emplify Health cafeteria (1900 South Avenue) Monday through Friday until Aug.
