- ➤ On Monday, the La Crosse Area YMCA launched its free summer lunch program at 24 locations in the county, providing meals with fresh produce, milk, and a protein source for children 18 and under. - ➤ Emplify Health by Gundersen has launched its free summer meal program to serve breakfast from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. and lunch from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. to kids 18 and under at the Emplify Health cafeteria (1900 South Avenue) Monday through Friday until Aug. 20. - ➤ A jury will be chosen Monday in La Crosse for the homicide trial of Anquin St. Junious, who is accused of stabbing Virgil Stewart in a taxi on 7th Street in early 2019—St. Junious rejected a plea agreement and arrived from Illinois for the court case. WIZM

- ➤ Black Hawk Bridge connecting Lansing and De Soto reopened on June 9 after a safety inspection cleared it for traffic — local officials confirmed the bridge met all safety criteria for daily use. News8000
- ➤ Road projects resumed Monday in La Crosse County as crews reconstructed County Highway B between I-90 and CTH J with flaggers guiding traffic on one lane, while on County Highway M work began to replace the Russlan Coulee Creek Bridge and a section of road closed from June 16 to 20 plus County JB experienced culvert work until June 12 with small structure replacement set for June 23 to 26, and a public meeting is scheduled Tuesday, June 17 about a bridge on County G over Coon Creek.
