- ➤ Beaver Creek Reserve is hopeful that AmeriCorps funding will return after a federal judge blocked cuts and community members raised over $120,000 in one month to support the program amid uncertainty for future operations. Executive director Erik Keisler said if funding is reinstated they will create an endowment for the program—otherwise the Reserve will face higher costs next school year. WEAU

- ➤ Campbell Police assisted in a multi-state drug trafficking investigation that began in February after a tip and led to a search warrant at 909 Hanson Road in Campbell—officers seized 62 pounds of marijuana, six firearms, psilocybin products and drug paraphernalia, and Steven Harter, 40, was arrested facing multiple charges. - ➤ La Crosse City Council president Tamra Dickinson said on June 10 that the council will vote Thursday to nearly double the stormwater utility bill from $54 to $118 as she raised concerns about drag racing and heavy traffic. She also provided updates on plans to tear down the Hogan site for a new elementary school and on the study to hire a city administrator—steps meant to improve city services. WIZM
- ➤ County park officials reported that revenue from Goose Island campground is 25% higher than early last summer and that upgrades at Veterans Memorial Park—including improvements to its pond, toilets and trees—are planned to help avoid a repeat of record flooding.
