- ➤ A 60 year old Onalaska man, Jay Wiltse, is accused of starting a fire in his neighbor’s bathroom during an early June quarrel by setting off fireworks — he faces arson charges and was released on a $20,000 signature bond. WIProud

- ➤ The La Crosse Center board will ask the city to use $60,000 from existing funds to repair the leaky main arena roof, which has had issues with its 30-year-old material causing holes in the roof. The board also will request a new base chiller—ensuring the building stays air conditioned for upcoming summer events. WIZM
- ➤ Liberty Street (from Gillette to Sill) was closed on Wednesday after a water main break forced city crews to begin repairs, and officials did not set a finish date. News8000

- ➤ Bridgeview Plaza is set to be transformed as the owners plan a major makeover that will split the current mall into two new five-story buildings+one with 101 units and 94 underground parking stalls and another with 100 units and 95 parking stalls, featuring Blue Zone Pickleball courts on one end and Harbor Freight on the other with a courtyard in between. City officials will review the plans and set a timeline+address needed infrastructure at Friday’s Commercial/Multi-Family Design Review Committee. WIZM
- ➤ Developers plan to build two five-story apartment buildings at Bridgeview Plaza on La Crosse's north side that will add about 200 housing units and include more than 90 underground parking spaces—plans will be reviewed by the City’s Commercial/Multi-Family Design Review Committee Friday at 9:00 a.m. The designs also call for updates to existing structures with a new courtyard and multi-use paths.
