- ➤ Illinois authorities arrested 19-year-old Derek Braudt after he fled a West Salem traffic stop on Tuesday night when officers pulled him over for speeding and detecting alcohol, and he now faces charges including felony bail jumping and resisting an officer as he is set for extradition to La Crosse County. - ➤ 28-year-old Diontae Booth will face a one-week trial for charges including attempted first-degree intentional homicide after he allegedly shot his ex-girlfriend on May 15—jury selection begins September 8. News8000

- ➤ La Crosse County is still looking for a buyer for more than 100 acres of county-owned farm property near Lake Neshonoc in West Salem — officials are inviting community suggestions for its future use. The county will review housing and market studies when they are completed by the end of the year and reconvene on July 7. WIZM
- ➤ The Transportation Security Administration will offer TSA Pre-Check enrollment next month at La Crosse Regional Airport — the event runs Tuesday through Friday, July 8-11 with sessions from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Travelers must bring a REAL ID or passport and may complete part of the application online prior to their appointment — helping them save time at security checkpoints at more than 200 airports nationwide.
