  • UW-La Crosse Summer Youth Programs are giving local students hands-on learning by letting them interact with experts in STEM, business, and culinary arts — projects like the Pizza Project and Art Adventures are also planned. Program specialist KJ Krzyzanowski said the university aims to boost student skills and community engagement — helping them grow as better learners and active local members.  WIProud

  • La Crosse Mayor Shaundel Washington-Spivey appeared on La Crosse Talk on July 15 to discuss his first 99 days in office, detailing a city council vote that used *$115,000* in contingency funds for park security and a *$100,000* donation to support housing for people experiencing homelessness. He also said plans to hire a city administrator have been delayed until February and provided an update on the new development review for the old Kmart lot.  WIZM
  • The Wisconsin Department of Transportation and La Crosse city officials have begun planning a project to upgrade the corridor between I-90 and West Avenue—designed to boost safety and update local infrastructure.  La Crosse Tribune
  • La Crosse County supervisors approved a $350,000 grant from the state department of justice on Thursday as part of the Wisconsin Deflection Initiative—funding the Pathways Home program for housing support and opioid abuse treatment.
