  • Veterans can buy two $5 reduced-fee tickets for Irishfest from La Crosse County’s Veteran Services Department at the Health and Human Services building on 300 4th Street North in La Crosse & tickets are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. while supplies last for single-day entry to the event from August 8 to 10 at the Southside fest grounds.  WIZM
  • Cyclists rode Saturday morning on the La Crosse River State Trail in the Ride for Sight event hosted by the La Crosse Lions Club—riders took routes from 12K family trails to a 100K road ride through the bluffs—and helped raise funds for vision projects that support children’s vision screenings.  News8000

  • La Crosse city officials are considering new cannabis regulations that could bar mobile vendors from operating downtown at a subcommittee hearing today. The proposed rules would prevent the H.A.F. Baked food truck (which lacks a permanent address) from selling its products and may limit future cannabis businesses.  La Crosse Tribune

  • Trempealeau County officials said six road signs, including markers for Pine Creek Ridge Road, Schmickle Valley Road and Galewski Road, were stolen—this theft may delay emergency response and residents are urged to return any found signs to Dodge Town Hall.  News8000

  • Environmental advocates urged local officials to secure federal funding to preserve the Mississippi River as the upcoming budget revision may cut conservation programs that control invasive species, sediment and erosion.
