- ➤ On Wednesday, UW-La Crosse College of Science and Health students presented research on topics from potential medical breakthroughs to soil chemistry analysis at the Bluffs Ballroom in the UWL Student Union from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.—Associate Dean Whitney George said the symposium offered students hands-on lab experience outside the classroom. - ➤ County U—the main route between Bangor and Rockland—will close on Wednesday for about a month as the La Crosse County Highway Department reconstructs a curve near Rockland; drivers will use a detour via Highway 162 to Highway 16 then east on County J. WIZM
- ➤ On August 6, 2025, the Common Council voted on decisions related to local governance—officials did not provide further details on the measures. News8000
- ➤ Tuesday night, the La Crosse J&A committee recommended two measures: one to install ADA‐compliant drinking fountains across the city to ease access in extreme heat and one to ban hemp‐based THC sales to anyone under 21 by requiring ID checks and limiting sales near child gathering areas — the full Common Council will decide on the proposals next week.
