- ➤ Great Rivers United Way launched its Community Impact Tour Tuesday by visiting Wafer Food Pantry, The Parenting Place, and Horse Sense in Coon Valley where it granted funds to expand an assisted learning program. The nonprofit hosted a Mental Health Matters workshop today that taught strategies for managing emotions and provided local resources—another event in United Way Week. News8000
- ➤ Bruce’s Legacy is fundraising to buy a new remote-operated vehicle to help volunteers search deep water and give closure to grieving families. The nonprofit founded in honor of firefighter Bruce Cormican who died 30 years ago has raised more than $65,000 so far and needs to reach $100,000 through donations. WEAU

- ➤ La Crosse welcomed a new Raising Cane's near Valley View Mall where a Tuesday celebration started at 7:30 a.m. with live music, dance performances, and a ribbon cutting featuring La Crosse Mayor Shaundel Washington-Spivey, Onalaska Mayor Kim Smith, and the Chamber of Commerce; the restaurant opened at 10 a.m. at 3740 WI-16 with hours until 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays while traffic was redirected to Access Road. - ➤ Western Technical College unveiled its new Center of Innovation today in La Crosse — a facility that links students with local industry partners by providing hands-on labs and certification opportunities, and it was funded by a $10 million investment from the Wanek Foundation. News8000

- ➤ The La Crosse Fire Department issued a public safety alert after overdose calls jumped from one to three per week to six or seven, and officials urged everyone to learn the signs of overdose — acting quickly by calling 911 may help save lives. WEAU
