Good morning, La Crosse.

Nearly 1,000 school staff gathered at Logan High School this week to kick off the new 2025–26 school year—Superintendent Aaron Engel said the event mixed a pep rally with a time to reflect on the challenges ahead, while teacher Jill Schams noted that the gathering brought all 19 schools together to share ideas for supporting every student.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources warned hunters to avoid using ash trees for deer stands ahead of hunting season because ash trees weakened by emerald ash borer infestations can break unexpectedly.
