- ➤ Today the Army Corps of Engineers is replacing nearly century-old miter gates at Lock and Dam 6 on the Mississippi River to keep traffic safe. Lockmaster Joel Hermann said the new equipment is built to last another 100 years — a move that follows similar work at Lock and Dam 7. News8000
