- ➤ On September 11th, La Crosse held a 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony to mark the 24th anniversary of the attacks, with police, fire chiefs, the county sheriff and veterans service officers speaking to honor those affected. - ➤ Viroqua native Missy Hughes is resigning as CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation effective Sept. 19—she joined Governor Tony Evers' administration in 2019 and helped secure more than $8 billion in planned investments and maintain 45,000 jobs. - ➤ La Crosse expanded its free home energy assessments to include middle-income households earning between $103,000 and $190,000 — a change announced by city council members to help more residents upgrade their homes with features like heat pumps and insulation. The update comes as federal tax credits for home maintenance are set to expire soon. WIZM
- ➤ The common council delayed the vote for the director of operations position on September 12th—officials have not shared when the vote will be rescheduled. News8000
