- ➤ Several Xcel Energy employees volunteered at the Kane Street Community Garden in north La Crosse on a Friday in early fall, working on cleanup, weeding and planting as part of the company's annual Days of Service—marking their first effort at the garden. WIZM
- ➤ On Saturday, over 4,000 people joined the twentieth annual Steppin’ Out in Pink Walk in downtown La Crosse and Riverside Park—breast cancer survivors, volunteers, and community members raised funds that will support local research and patient care. WIZM
- ➤ On Saturday, 100 Vietnam-era and 1 Korean War veteran flew from La Crosse to Washington, D.C. as part of the Freedom Honor Flight program—family and friends gathered early at Colgan Air for the send-off and later welcomed the veterans home with a ceremony at 7:30 p.m. WIZM
