Runners, walkers and families gathered at Riverside Park for the YMCA’s 27th annual Maple Leaf Walk Run as part of Oktoberfest on Saturday morning.
Participants ran a half marathon, five-mile race, 5K and Kids Maple Mile along part of the parade route to support the YMCA Food Program.
Car enthusiasts gathered in Onalaska Saturday for a car show at Morrie’s Onalaska Chevrolet that showcased classic and custom vehicles and raised funds for WAFER Food Pantry—supporting local food assistance.
Organizers said the event highlighted community spirit and automobile passion.

Families attended the 44th annual Turned Leaf Festival at Myrick Park Saturday as a substance-free alternative to Oktoberfest.
The event featured crafts, face painting and outdoor games — offering a safe celebration for those in recovery.
Dozens of floats and community groups joined the annual Maple Leaf Parade—part of Oktoberfest—on Saturday morning, starting on the North Side and ending downtown.
The Torchlight and Maple Leaf Parade award ceremony is set for noon today at the News 8 Now Heritage Hofbräu Haus on the Oktoberfest grounds.
