- ➤ The La Crosse Public Library announced the death of beloved children’s librarian Medora Nelson-Ferris on Thursday—she connected with community families for years. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On October 9, La Crosse Common Council rejected a proposal for a Director of Operations position—citing that the role did not meet the city's current needs. News8000
- ➤ The City of La Crosse will begin hydrant flushing on October 13 in northern areas including Airport Industrial Park and Moorings Drive for 2 to 3 days and may lower water pressure and cause discolored water. Flushing moves south on October 15 along Highway 14/61 and South 7th Street so residents should run a tap until the water clears—these measures are standard maintenance. WIZM
- ➤ La Crosse County's Veteran Service Office hosted a benefits check-up event at the Holmen Community Center yesterday where veterans and their families received benefits information and health services—such as wellness checks and massage services—from partners including Tomah VA Medical Center and Winona State University nursing school. Veterans who missed the event can get similar services at a second check-up planned for Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Onalaska Legion. News8000
