- ➤ The free ferry resumed service Monday morning after a pause to allow for the implosion of the old Lansing Bridge into the Mississippi — crews spent the weekend clearing a channel and continued removing debris on Monday. - ➤ The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources announced that a hunter-harvested adult buck from near the Monroe + Vernon County borders tested positive for chronic wasting disease in La Crosse. - ➤ The La Crosse County jail chaplain, Ann Wales, will retire on New Year’s Eve after five years in the role — Jason Kalember will succeed her in January to continue support for inmates. WIZM
- ➤ Attorney General Josh Kaul announced Monday that Wisconsin will receive over $630,000 from a 48-state settlement with Mercedes-Benz over illegal emissions devices in diesel vehicles sold from 2008 to 2016. Car owners with unrepaired vehicles may be entitled to extra relief. News8000
